Low Density Poly Ethylene

Gift your Façade the magic of LDPE Core ACP sheets

Aluminum composite panels made by Viva either have an LDPE core or an FR core (mineral core) sandwiched between two coils of solid aluminum, each being 0.5mm (about 0.02 in) thick.

LDPE (low-density polyethylene) is a thermoplastic material that belongs to the family of polyolefins. They are formed by compressing monomer ethylene gas in an autoclave or tubular reactor to link the monomers into polymer chains.

As the name suggests, their low density of 0.91-0.94 g/cm3 and low crystallinity of 50-60% make them quite pliable. Thus, they provide creative liberty for fabrication and molding. Due to their low specific gravity, LDPEs are lightweight plastic materials and can be installed quickly and easily. Furthermore, they do not add additional weight to the building.

LDPE is a Green Building product since it is recyclable and is classified under recycling number 4. Moreover, they possess excellent adhesion capabilities as well as good durability. It also possesses excellent impact resistance and electrical insulation properties. They protect against corrosion caused by acids, alcohols, bases, and esters.

The quality measures that we practice at VIVA have helped us to corner the market in the ACP Sheets industry. We have won the LEED certification by IGBC, which is a testimony that we never trade-off the environment for the quality of our ACP board.

Thickness

VIVA Aluminium Panel Sheets are readily available in 6mm, 4mm and 3mm with the Aluminium coil thicknesses varying from 0.25 mm to 0.50mm. The thickness of ACP’s can be made customized on special order/requirement or as per largely depends on the height at which it is to be installed mainly because of the wind velocity that will differ at that altitude up to 10mm.
