In Modern Construction, How Do VIVA ACP Panels Prevent Fire From Spreading?

Faulty appliances, gas leaks, phones left to charge too long, candles knocked overall are early signs of a massive fire accident. In less than 30 seconds, a small flame can turn into an inferno. A house can be engulfed in flames or covered with thick black smoke in a matter of minutes.
All this trauma can be avoided if the facade is constructed of non-combustible materials that will not fuel the existing fire. Even if the fire begins to devour the facade, the non-combustible material will slow down its intensity and speed.
Hence, the rest of this blog is dedicated to explaining how VIVA's Fire retardant ACP panels protect from the fury of fire.
Let's get started right away.

What Are The Typical Requirements For Starting A Fire?

Having a basic knowledge of how fires begin is crucial for understanding the functionality of VIVA's fire-retardant ACP panels.
Heat, Fuel and Oxygen are three essential components to trigger a fire accident.
A fire can spread in a fraction of a second if the temperature of the heat source is high enough to cause combustion and if oxygen and fuel are sufficient in the environment.

An Overview Of VIVA's Flame Retardant ACP Panels

VIVA's fire retardant ACP panels are offered in three grades - Class B, Class A2+, and Class A2. The FR class B comprises 70% Mineral & 30 % Polyethylene recycled core, whereas the FR class A2 includes 90% Mineral & 10 % Polyethylene recycled core.
We are the first ACP Company in India to introduce Thomas Bell-Wright certified FR Class A2+ ACCP (Aluminium Core corrugated panel).
VIVA's FR Class B ACP panels are accredited with NFPA 285, EN 13501, ASTM D1929, and ASTM E84. Our FR Class A2+ and Class A2 comply with EN 13501 and ASTM D1929. Viva FR Grade ACP Certificates: Product Certification Listing Portal

How Do VIVA ACP Panels Provide Fire Suppression For Modern Buildings?

First of all, aluminium is a non-combustible material, is a remarkable thermal insulator.
The low thermal conductivity of FR aluminium composite panels maintains the temperature of the building to a tolerable level, resulting in negligible fire spread for up to two hours.
Moreover, they do not actively participate in combustion and hence do not generate excessive heat that could cause the flames to propagate.
VIVA's FR ACP panels are made of the halogenated core. The core comprises polymer-bonded, inorganic minerals like Aluminium Trihydroxide and Magnesium Dihydroxide.

The 100% aluminium construction breaks the fire triangle by eliminating the fuel element and replacing the polyethene core with a honeycomb core.
The mineral core behaves like an active smoke suppressant. Instead of thermal irritants or toxic fumes that can be detrimental to the health of the respiratory system and cause blurred vision, the ACP panels emit a small amount of non-toxic water vapour. This reduces casualties and eases evacuation.
As a bonus, fire retardant ACP panels are transformed into harmless dust particles instead of flaming droplets. This results in minimal damage to property.
Wrapping Up
Several skyscrapers have emerged as a response to rapid urbanization. However, fire catastrophes continue to haunt the cityscrape. Therefore, appropriate safety measures must be taken seriously to prevent fire hazards.
Viva's smoke-free FR-grade ACP panels are ideal for high-rises with a height of more than 15 meters.
